Despite of considerable public investments the results did not meet the expectations and the operation of the plant seemed to be unprofitable. Steady improvement in co-operation between scientists and the farmer over decades would have given the chance to develop the leading dry fermentation technology today. This report may be the basis for long-term improvement and optimisation of the prototype plant in Järna.
