By comparison, dogs have some 125 to 300 million receptors in their noses. This huge number of olfactory receptors allows dogs to identify smells somewhere between 1,000 to 10,000 times better than humans. To process all these smell-related inputs, the proportion of a dog’s brain that is devoted to analyzing smell is some 40 times greater than in humans.
Yet the twins tested very differently in measured personality traits. Percent difference in anger control was some 30 percent.
